1 day test

This home based test aids in diagnosis of abnormalities in the normal beating of heart, known as cardiac rhythm abnormality.

It measures ECG data using a small recorder which can directly transmit the data to your smartphone or storage device.

What do your results explain?

The results of the Holter test will be the recorded and the data is analyzed in digital format.

Skilled physicians can examine the report for abnormalities.

The report will assist in the evaluation of arrhythmia (irregular heart rhythm).

Threshold values for diagnosing hypertension vary for daytime and night-time.

What is the test

The Holter monitor includes a small wearable device that keeps track of the heart rhythm.

It is generally performed after an ECG, especially if the later does not give the doctor enough information about the patient’s heart condition.

How is the test done?

Holter monitoring records an electrocardiogram (ECG) tracing with the help of attached electrodes

Recording is done continuously for 12-48 hours

To correlate the timing of the symptom with EKG, the patient has to activate ECG a button

At the end of the test, the recorded data is analyzed in digital format

Cardiac technicians and skilled physicians examine the report for abnormalities

What does the

Holter monitoring is a home ECG monitoring test.

It is done to determine the reason behind irregular and rapid heartbeats, temporary loss of consciousness, particularly in patients who are at increased risk of cardiovascular diseases.

Two to three lead Holter ECG monitoring measures heart rate and its rhythm.

Twelve lead Holter monitoring is used for determining origin of premature beats/ dysrhythmias or tachycardia.

Who should take
the test?

Holter test is recommended in the following cases:

If a patient has

Palpitation and abnormal heart rhythm

Experienced temporary loss of consciousness due to fall in BP

Experiencing irregular heartbeats for short time periods

Palpitation along with fatigue and shortness of breath

To analyze

The efficacy of pharmacological interventions given to the patient

The function of pacemaker or other implantable devices

The risk of sudden cardiac death
